Thanks for the nice component. Is it compatible also with the NATIVE events component?

If you are referring to the native 1.5 JEvents component - while it is available for download from jevents.net, it is still an alpha release,
and isn't recommended for live sites. When the stable version if released, we will provide compatibility.

JEvents 1.4 runs in legacy mode with Joomla 1.5, and our component and module are compatible with that combination.

You can try our extensions with the alpha release of JEvents 1.5, but we there is no guarantee they will work.

Ok.

Now I have one question - how to get the day NAMES displayed in any other language than English when I mail the newsletter?

hi urednik,
Currently, the eventsmailer beta only supports sending the newsletter with dates in english. If you're interested in changing the code yourself (totally fine by us), you can look in /components/com_eventsmailer/eventsmailer.html.php on line 92. If you don't feel comfortable updating the code yourself, no worries. We will try to include locale support in the next release - stay tuned!

The line 92 is to difficult to me. I only used to translate codes and not to alter them

Anyway I can't figure out how this line of code picks up english only???
Code:

$html .= '<fieldset><legend class="ev_fieldset">' . "" . ' ' . $startdate . " - " . $enddate

if there was some en-GB or sth. I would understand, but now I am confused ...

since there is no locale support, there is no en-GB, en-US or similar for you to change. Possibly for the next release, we can look at adding translations that will use the Joomla! locale language
