Error Installing 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I have installed both the plug-in and the component.

Here is the status from the component install:
A component to manage and synchronize Mailman mailing lists
/** * @Copyright Copyright (C) 2010- ... TNR Global * @license GNU/GPL www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html **/
Congratulations, the Mailman Component is installed!

Initial steps to get the Mailman Component up-and-running can be found here.

We hope you enjoy using the Mailman Component! Let us know what you think at www.tnrjoomla.com.

However, when I attempt to configure the component via Components->Mailman Admin->Settings, I receive a 404 error. Here is the URL for the page /administrator/index.php?option=com_tnrmailmanextension&task=settings.

Is there a step missing?

thanks in advance,
Michael

I'm having the EXACT same problem on a clean install of Joomla 1.5.2.

No component items are uploaded to the domain.com/administrator folder, even though they are called from that URL in the control panel.

I'm sure that's part of the problem, at least.

Re:Error Installing 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hi,

I have the same issue, it seems that it is installed but not where it is supposed to be. It appears to be installed under "com_tnrmailmanextension" and not "com_mailinglist".

I have tried to rename the folder and it does allow me to use some of the menus in admin.

The Settings menu though seems to link to "com_tnrmailmanextension" still.
I re-typed the url to match go to the renamed folder "/administrator/index.php?option=com_mailinglist&task=settings" and it does load the page.

It appears that during the installation process Joomla may be getting com_tnrmailmanextension from somewhere and installing it there, but I can't seem to find it in any of the files prior to installing?

My next step is to search the database, and installed files to see if its in there?

If there is a fix already being worked on that would be great as this is a fantastic looking component, and it would save me looking through the files.

Thanks

Re:Error Installing 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hi Atlantis,
Thanks for pointing out what the error was. Once you did that it is easy to fix.
The problem is in the mailinglist.xml file because Joomla 1.5 names the component directory from whatever is between the name tags <name>TNR Mailman Extension</name>
So my advice is to extract all the files from the original download zip and edit the mailinglist.xml file.
Change the name to <name>Mailing List</name> and then zip them all up.
Change the directory name of your current installation back to com_tnrmailmanextension (else the uninstaller won't work) and then uninstall the component.
Now you can install the new zip file you have and everything should be hunky dory.
